Fulfilling the Great Commission by raising Christ-centred disciples to plant vibrant, biblical churches in our cities and countries all over the world

WORKING ADULT CONFERENCE

2010 saw the Working Adult Getaway transformed into the Working Adult Conference. Our theme was appropriately named “Influence”. Activities kicked off on Friday, July 2nd, when Ps. Jeff met with leaders serving in working adult ministries in an up-close-and-personal forum. It provided a much needed insight to the unique challenges of adapting, leading and influencing working adult ministries.
The official programme started on Saturday, July 3, with all the delegates gathering at 9am at the Bardon Conference Centre. We started praise and worship with a bang and God’s presence was thick amongst our midst. God helped contain our exuberant sound within the conference with the band facing noise level restrictions. Later that day, we had two guest speakers, Dr David Hunt and Glenn Hohnberg who gave a talk on goal-setting and outreach in the marketplace respectively. These sessions provided our delegates with a fresh perspective. Later that afternoon, after a sumptuous lunch, we had two concurrent forums: one on wellness and the other aimed towards budding business owners.

Throughout the conference, Ps Jeff conducted three teaching sessions. The appropriately named teachings “Call to Influence”, “Source of Influence”, and “Influence for the Long Haul” provided great insights and fresh perspectives for working people through all the different stages in life. Feedback from participants found Ps Jeff’s teaching entertaining, refreshing as well as practical.

Sunday, we had our service followed by lunch. We ended the conference with the delegates gathering in small groups; with people they rarely met, for a heart-to-heart discussion about their take home points. Although the delegates were tired from the action-packed sessions, they now had a newfound sense of direction.
