Fulfilling the Great Commission by raising Christ-centred disciples to plant vibrant, biblical churches in our cities and countries all over the world

The celebration of Hope Church Queanbeyan’s 10th Year Anniversary was a weekend full of worship, healing and breakthrough. We were privileged to have Pastor Torch, the Worship Arts and Media Global Director and Youth and Young Adult Pastor of Ablaze Service together with Adam Khoo, the Music Director and Ablaze Youth Ministry coordinator, both from Hope Brisbane, ministering passionately to us.

This year, our theme is “Victory through Obedience and Worship” and what could be more victorious than a weekend that starts and ends in worship? Pastor Torch and Adam started their day by joining the praise and worship practice. They gave valuable pointers as they ushered in their goal for that weekend: to help develop an effective worship team. Training continued in the afternoon where they met other church family members. Pastor Torch emphasized that worship is not just a lifestyle but our life, a means of encountering our God. Therefore, worship should be coming from the heart and be centred only to God and Him alone.

Indeed, God’s presence was strongly felt over the past two days that they were with us. Sunday’s message was still focused on encountering God through worship, words of encouragement and healing. There were several stories of personal breakthroughs and healing. One was healed of chronic back pain, one of arthritic hands and another had an improvement in her vision. We rejoice with our brother who was healed from back pain.

Our 10th year was also a celebration of community, as both old and new friends came to join us during the Sunday Worship Service. Invited friends brought along other friends and it was such a joy to see people just coming together to celebrate the goodness of God, in our church, in our community and in the lives of each and every member. As one visitor said, “If you have any more of this, please invite me again.” Indeed, God will give us more as we step out in faith and start another milestone in our journey. As the psalmist David says, “You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalms 23:5-6 (NIV).
