Fulfilling the Great Commission by raising Christ-centred disciples to plant vibrant, biblical churches in our cities and countries all over the world

HOPE HONG KONG’S FIRST SERVICE

“Read an exciting church planting testimony from Kelly Chan in Hong Kong about their first church service. Kelly and Christine Yeung were members of Hope Church, Brisbane for many years while studying at university. Upon graduation, Christine went back to Hong Kong for employment and helped start Hope Hong Kong. From Brisbane, Kelly went to Hope Singapore for several years, and now she is leading Hope Hong Kong”.

On 12th Oct 2013 (Saturday) marked the birth of Hope Church (Hong Kong)’s first service. It was a faith date marked by the Team and made possible by God. God has gone before us and prepared the ground for this church. Pillars of our church is formed by a group of obedient warriors – Christine Yeung, Gloria Cheung, Jack Cruzado, Kristen Chan and Maggie Chan. God had spoken to them individually about their purpose for Hope Church (Hong Kong). They made the choice to obey, putting God’s preference before their own for His ways are higher than our ways.

We are very blessed to have a centrally located venue that is a 1-minute walk from the MTR (Train station). This God-given place is provided for by a church that believes in the Holy Spirit, through a sister (Anny), whom I knew back in Hope Brisbane many years ago! The pastor encouraged us to utilize the place as our own, and he believes that the place will be more anointed if we use it for church service. The property prices in Hong are sky-high but we were offered ‘free offering’ condition to use this place like our own. This is indeed God’s favour in God’s call.

During our first service, we were overwhelmed to have a record of 27 attendees, with 5 nationalities. The first salvation came in our second service! We are looking forward to more amazing services with more lives touched and transformed. His presence will bring peace to the ever-tense city of Hong Kong. A blessed journey for the promised land, God has indeed prepared everything.

11 In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, 12 in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:11-12 (NIV)
