Fulfilling the Great Commission by raising Christ-centred disciples to plant vibrant, biblical churches in our cities and countries all over the world

Our History

The Hope International Ministries started in Australia in 1990 with the first church in Melbourne. Churches began to be planted in various cities and towns in the ensuing years. There are now congregations in 19 locations in Australia and New Zealand.

A National Council was formed in 1996 to oversee the churches in Australia. In 1998, Dr. Wilson Lim became the national chairman and the National Executive formed in 2010. Hope Ministries Australia is the recognised governing body for all Hope International Ministries churches within Australia and is part of the Hope International Ministries family of churches around the world.

Our passion is for fulfilling the Great Commission and we are passionately involved in nurturing Christ-centred disciples and advancing the Kingdom of God through church planting. We are also known for our strong sense of community in our churches, emphasis on biblical teaching and desire to see Christ-followers empowered by the Holy Spirit. Our churches in Australia are multi-ethnic and welcome people from diverse backgrounds.

HIM in Oceania has been fostering a strong missions effort in Africa and currently oversee churches in Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea, Liberia, Rwanda, Uganda and Zambia. Further details can be found in www.byhim.org.
